Explore the world of Highland Dress as we learn the anatomy of kilt hose, how to measure for them, and how different types are appropriate for different styles of Highland Dress.

Materials Provided by Instructor: Class pattern and worksheet

Materials Provided by Student: About 850 yards (2 skeins) sock yarn (allow extra for extra large hose)
Needles :1 set size 4 [3.5 mm] DPN, 1 set size 1 ½ [2.5 mm] DPN or sizes required to achieve gauge Note-taking supplies, tapestry needle, waste yarn.  

Homework: Determine gauge by swatching: 40 sts and 48 rnds = 4" [10 cm] in wide rib patt on smaller needles
Wide Rib Pattern: (multiple of 10 sts) Rnd 1: K4 *p2, k8; repeat from * to last 6 sts, p2, k4. Repeat Rnd 1 for patt.
