I have been an avid
rug hooker since 1977, being taught by my husband’s Grandmother. My enjoyment
of this wonderful art has spurred me on to learn from the finest teachers, and
attend as many rug camps and workshops as possible.
In 1983 I began my journey
as a teacher to pass my knowledge of rug
hooking on. Working from my studio in La Grangeville, NY. I teach classes in
finely shaded to wide cut, and hand torn primitive hooking. In addition, I also teach specialized workshops
in rug hooking and braiding to dye classes. Currently I am
serving my second consecutive term as President of the Dutchess County Rug
Hookers Guild, also having served once before in 1989. I was also owner of New
Earth Designs, a rug hooking pattern design company, now owned by Jeanne
Benjamin of Brookfield, MA. 2017 has me celebrating
34 years of teaching hooking to enthusiastic rug hookers and hope
you will join me in my current classes being offered here for the beginner as
well as advanced student at the NYS Sheep & Wool Festival!
